Department Service Officers

Veterans don’t have to stand alone in the in their battle for benefits and medical care. Our Department Service Officers help veterans and family members weed through the paperwork and bureaucracy of government to get the benefits, and medical care deserved.

The American Legion department service officers offer free advice and guidance for veterans who need the services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) regardless of whether or not they are members of The American Legion.  Click here to learn more.

Temporary Financial Assistance

Since its establishment in 1925, The American Legion Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) program has awarded cash grants to minor children of veterans who are eligible for American Legion membership.

Memorial Committee

American Legion Post 70 designates an “Honor Guard” as a unit that provides funeral and graveside ceremonies in conjunction with the local funeral home.
