American Legion Victory Post 70 Shelbyville IndianaAmerican Legion Victory Post #70 Shelbyville In.

The American Legion Victory Post 70 Shelbyville Indiana was chartered on September 15, 1919. In the beginning, there were 26 chartered members. The first post commander was Dr. L.C. Sammons, and the first officer installation has held in October of 1919.

Through many decades since, Post 70 has and continues to care about America, our fellow veterans, our families, and our children. We participate in our community, donate to charity, and sponsor programs to educate our children.

Be a part of your community, visit or join Victory Post #70 today. Membership is open for those who qualify, and Volunteers are always welcome to help support our Veterans and the local community.

What We Do

Our Shelbyville Post has a General Meeting once a month officiated by the Post Commander. We talk about the issues concerning our Post, membership, children and youth, veterans’ issues, and community service. We find out what needs to be done and how we can help.

The bar is open every day, and the banquet hall is in use most nights. Renting the building to private parties is a fundraiser, along with holding dinners and dances. Victory post 70 supports Friday night dinners, Monday night football, and more. All these activities help to raise enough funds to enable the Post to fund our programs.
