Commander’s Note
Hello Victory Post 70,
I hope everyone is staying dry this week with all of the rain we’ve had. I suppose we should have expected it. As the temperatures begin to warm up this time of year, rain is never far behind.
There are a few important items I would like to bring to the Post’s attention in this week’s newsletter.
Online radio station Mix105 Indy has opened a hotline until 9:00 PM this evening for individuals to leave a message of encouragement for Vice Commander Brian Duvelius’s grandson, Benny.
For those who may not know, Benny is a 9-year-old member of our SAL Squadron and was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
We will also be hosting a benefit fundraiser for Benny on April 25th at the Post. More information about the event can be found here:
Fundraiser for Benny (Details)
If you would like to leave Benny a message of encouragement that may be featured on the air, please follow the steps below:
Call: 317-759-4725
- When calling, you will hear a Google prompt. Say your name at the prompt.
- The phone will ring six times.
- At the sound of the tone, please leave your message of encouragement. Also state your name and where you are calling from. When you are finished, you can simply hang up.
Important: You must call before 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, March 5th to be featured on the air.
Let’s come together as a Legion family and take a few moments to wish this little guy the very best of luck.
This Friday we are featuring a spaghetti dinner beginning at 6:00 PM, with entertainment from The Chaser Band following.
On Tuesday, March 17th for St. Patrick’s Day, we will be having drink specials and Irish food instead of our normal Taco Tuesday.
The Post will be open to the public that day, with Bar Bingo beginning at its regular time of 5:00 PM and food available shortly afterward.
I hope everyone is having a great week, and I look forward to seeing you at the Post soon.
– Commander Chris Ryhal
